If you get easily agitated by hair dryer noise as you style your hair at home or as you work in a hair salon you will want to pay close attention to what we tell you about this hair dryer. It is quiet, fairly powerful and also a very versatile hair styling and drying product. We heard many good things about this hair dryer so we decided to do some research on it and then review it. Here is what we found.
Taking a Quick Glance at Centrix Q-Zone Hair Dryer
Here is a brief look at the pros and cons that you get with this lower noise level hair dryer:
Pros:
- 1500 watts of hair drying power
- Built-in Tourmaline/Ionic technology
- 50 mph airflow
- A low 75-decibel noise level
- Lightweight and compact
- Double cool shot positions
Cons:
- Not great for thick and very kinky hair
- It’s very easy to accidentally hit the on/off switch
Centrix Q-Zone Hair Dryer’s Key Characteristics
This is a medium powered hair dryer with a wattage rating of 1500. One nice thing about this slight sized hair dryer is that it generates an air volume of up to 50 miles per hour. That is a lot for any size hair dryer.
The Centrix Q-Zone Dryer from Cricket is also a very lightweight and compact hair dryer. It measures just ten inches in length and weighs only a little over 1 pound. That is why so many professionals use this hair dryer. They can work for extended periods of time without getting tired.
It also has a varied set of airspeed and temperature settings you can use it on. It features 2 airspeed settings to choose from and you can also select from low, medium or high heat. There is also not one but two cool shot buttons located on this blow dryer.
It has an average length power cord at 8 feet long and the warranty that comes with it is a somewhat disappointing 1-year warranty. It does include four attachments with your purchase which is a nice little bonus you get with it.
The Signature Feature on the Centrix Q-Zone Hair Dryer
Most users rave about how super-quiet this hair dryer is. That is a big reason why you will see it featured in so many hair salons. It generates only 70 – 75 decibels of motor noise when it’s running. That is much quieter than the average hair dryer which produces over 90 decibels of noise.
This is definitely the right hair dryer for you if you are sensitive to hair dryer noise as you style your hair at home or you work in a salon that is trying to cut down on potentially health-damaging blow dryer noise.
Areas That Could Use Improvement with Centrix Q-Zone Hair Dryer
This is a powerful hair dryer but it does not work great for styling really thick or kinky hair. That is because it’s only rated at 1500 watts of power. This compact hair dryer relies more on air volume to dry hair than it does high heat. The reason it does not work as well on kinky and very thick hair is because high heat is needed to break the strong hydrogen bonds that hold these types of hair firmly in place so you can then style it.
One other aspect of this blow drying product we were dissatisfied with was its on/off button location. It is located on the back of the pistol grip handle. This means it can easily be tripped off as you are moving your hand around while styling your hair.
Review Summary
This is a pretty good hair dryer overall. It does not produce the ultra-high heat that some models do but it has just about every other feature you want on a hair dryer. It is lightweight and compact for a 1500 watt hair dryer and you can’t beat the low noise level that it generates. It makes for a much more soothing blow drying experience. If you are noise sensitive when blow drying your hair you will definitely want to think about purchasing this hair dryer.
